Films depict our basic human instincts and drives. Even though movies are a part of the outside world they end up reflecting our inner world. It is as though our unconscious communicates with our conscious mind. Filmmaker Ingmar Bergman, said, 'No form of art goes beyond ordinary consciousness as film does, straight to our emotions, deep into the twilight room of the soul.' What describes the urge that makes us search for new movies in newspapers or search an older movie online? What makes us watch a movie-whether for entertainment, inspiration, or motivation?
After searching around on the MTV website for some time inSeptember 2011, this researcher finally came across the "Community"pages at MTV.com where a "Dear Rihanna" Public Service Announcementvideo clip was housed in order to raise awareness about domestic violence(there is no longer direct access from the website). However, in all of themedia talk after the VMAs, this researcher never found anything online orviewed anything on broadcast media that used this clip that seemed to be anopposing view of Chris Brown's physically abusive behavior. The messagethat MTV put out to young girls was confusing. "Violence is a crime andshould never be excused" are the last words on display at the end of theMTV public service announcement clip, which can be found (with this link) at -rihanna.jhtml. However, actuallyfinding it in the more obscure pages of the website can take a great deal oftime, as it is not prominently displayed, and difficult to search. 2b1af7f3a8
